Description
This notice concerns a proposed Approval Order for Savage Services Corporation (Savage) to increase the permitted throughput of M-I WATE at their Savage Energy Terminal in Price, Carbon County, Utah. The facility currently transloads coal and crude oil. Savage is permitted to transload up to 27,000 tons of M-I WATE annually and is requesting to increase this by 81,000 tons per year, for a total of 108,000 tons annually. An engineering evaluation and air quality impact analysis have been completed, indicating compliance with federal and state air quality regulations. The Director intends to issue an Approval Order pending a 30-day public comment period. The project proposal, air quality impact estimate, and draft Approval Order are available for public inspection at the Utah Division of Air Quality. Written comments must be received by July 17, 2026.
