Description
Peel District School Board is seeking a qualified and experienced contractor to provide comprehensive chiller service and maintenance and a water treatment program at facilities throughout the Region of Peel. The scope includes inspections, repairs, emergency service, seasonal startup and shutdown, cooling tower and cooling pond maintenance, refrigerant monitoring and evacuation-system service, pump maintenance, tube cleaning and analysis, vibration and thermographic testing, oil and refrigerant analysis, and related reporting. The water treatment scope covers open evaporative cooling systems and closed chilled-water systems at approximately 33 schools and facilities. Services include chemical supply and application, biweekly inspections during the operating season, filter replacement, online cooling-tower disinfection, Legionella testing, microbiological monitoring, laboratory analysis, chemical-feed-system maintenance, winterization, disposal of used chemicals and containers, and written service reports. Respondents must have at least eight full-time employees holding the Ontario 313A refrigeration and air-conditioning systems mechanic journeyperson qualification, with specified safety training, and at least three years of similar experience. Addendum No. 1 clarifies that refrigerant monitoring systems require annual calibration and testing and that water strainers upstream of all pumps, chillers, and cooling towers must be cleaned. The agreement is expected to run from January 1 through December 31, 2027, with up to four additional one-year extensions.
