Description

Chicago Public Schools is soliciting bids from its contracted pre-qualified trade pool for a turnkey project furnishing and installing five exterior digital marquee signs at Belding Elementary School, Cleveland Elementary School, Von Linne Elementary School, Logandale Middle School, and Burbank Elementary School. The work includes demolition and replacement of existing signs and foundations at four locations, a new sign at Cleveland, electrical power and data connections, trenching, backfill, site restoration, structural foundation or support design by an Illinois-licensed structural engineer, and inspection or reuse of existing supports at Burbank. The signs include two-faced post-mounted digital LED signs at four schools and a one-faced wall-mounted digital LED sign at Burbank. The scope also includes five-year sign warranties, one year of maintenance support, startup and testing, training, and operation and maintenance documentation. Alternates include cellular broadband data service for up to 10 years, replacement of Burbank's wall supports, and a post-mounted Burbank sign. Addendum 1 modifies site locations and landscaping work, adds the Burbank post-mounted alternate, requires acknowledgment of Addenda 1 and 2, and requires foundations and posts to be installed by November 13, 2026, with all signs installed by February 28, 2027. Bidders must submit the completed and signed Bid Cover Sheet, required contact information, applicable MBE/WBE forms for bids of $75,000 or more, a 5% bid bond for bids of $25,000 or more, payment and performance bond premium pricing for bids of $50,000 or more, and applicable warranties. The bid must be submitted electronically through EUNA/Bonfire. The project requires union-signatory bidders and subcontractors, prevailing wages, applicable permits, safety and environmental controls, and acknowledgment of the addenda.
