Description
The City of Muskegon is seeking proposals for Construction Management (CM) services for both the pre-construction and construction phases of the Muskegon Farmers Market renovations and addition. This project aims to enhance the market's capacity by expanding its commercial kitchen, a garage structure, cooler/freezer areas, and the main barn structure used for vendors and programming. During the pre-construction phase, the selected CM will assist the owner's design team with cost estimating and onboarding trade contractors. Responsibilities include developing and updating project construction estimates to stay within budget, value engineering, and coordinating material selections and constructability. The construction phase will involve executing trade contracts, managing the project schedule, reviewing progress payments, projecting cash flow, providing monthly progress reports, and overseeing all construction activities to project closeout. The City of Muskegon encourages local vendors and has established goals for disadvantaged contractor participation, including 14% for minority-owned businesses and 7% for female-owned businesses.
