Description
The City of Henderson is seeking a turnkey contractor to furnish and install a commercial-grade playground designed for children ages 5 to 12. The proposed system must fit within the designated playground and swing areas, accommodate at least 30 concurrent users, and include climbing, sliding, swinging, sensory or interactive, social, and inclusive play opportunities. The minimum equipment includes at least three slides, a swing set with two belt swings and one saucer-style seat swing, powder-coated steel support posts, stainless-steel hardware, ADA-compliant transfer platforms, and equipment meeting current CPSC, ASTM, IPEMA, and ADA requirements. Fully enclosed tunnels or slides, transparent components, and rope-based play elements are prohibited. The contractor must provide turnkey installation, including transportation, labor, foundations, concrete, post holes, grading, site drainage, a six-inch concrete perimeter border, cleanup, and disposal of construction waste. The contractor must also furnish and install pour-in-place rubber safety surfacing over a prepared aggregate base, meeting applicable ASTM and ADA requirements and carrying at least a five-year warranty. The anticipated project budget is $200,000 to $250,000. Proposals must include design renderings, a scaled layout showing equipment and safety zones, a foam-board rendering, a detailed cost breakdown, color options, warranty information, background and previous experience, three client references, and examples of prior projects. Davis-Bacon prevailing wages and applicable federal funding requirements apply.
