Description
North Tahoe Public Utility District is soliciting qualifications from a licensed Class A general engineering contractor to provide construction manager/general contractor services for improvements to the National Avenue Water Treatment Plant. The project has an estimated construction cost of approximately $2,000,000 and uses a CM/GC delivery method with preconstruction services followed by potential construction services under a separately negotiated construction contract. The scope includes demolition and replacement of aging electrical gear, motor control centers, control systems, and ultraviolet disinfection equipment; replacement of five motor starters and two variable-frequency drives; relocation of chemical feed pumps; installation of a safety shower; physical security improvements; minor seismic and structural improvements; constructability and value-engineering support; cost estimating and guaranteed maximum price development; procurement planning; subcontractor bidding support; scheduling; risk mitigation; quality control; and construction management. The project is subject to California prevailing-wage requirements, Department of Industrial Relations registration, skilled-and-trained-workforce requirements, Class A licensing, bonding, and insurance requirements. The initial qualifications submission must not include pricing for preconstruction services; eligible shortlisted firms will later submit fee proposals and participate in interviews.
