Description
The California Department of Food and Agriculture is seeking quotes for 2,000,000 cotton plugs used in Jackson traps for exotic fruit fly detection. The required plugs are 2 inches long, 1/2 inch in diameter, weigh 1.5 grams, are made of 100% cotton, contain no hole or opening, and retain their shape with braided rayon threads. No substitutions will be accepted. The solicitation package also lists a 250-case line item, with 4,000 plugs per bag and two bags per case, and requires freight, shipping, and handling to be included in unit pricing on an FOB Destination basis. Bidders must submit samples for evaluation. Samples will be tested for tight fit in bait hangers and absorption of 5 ml of liquid lure, including methyl-eugenol and cue-lure; a minimum score of 95% is required. The response must include the State-provided RFQ form, a detailed quote on company letterhead, and the specified certifications and forms applicable to the bidder, including recycled-content certification and the Bidder Declaration. The solicitation states that award will be made on an all-or-none basis.
