Description
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is soliciting a U.S.-domestic end-item source for one BL18 in-vacuum undulator for the SPEAR3 beamline. The requirement includes the undulator magnet, magnetic design and quality-control documentation, mechanical, vacuum-system, and motion-control designs, a quality assurance plan, and a delivery schedule. The proposed schedule must support delivery within 19 months after receipt of order; alternative schedules exceeding 19 months may be considered. The technical proposal must document relevant in-vacuum-undulator experience from the previous five years, preliminary magnetic and mechanical/vacuum designs, supply-chain sources for raw and magnetic materials, manufacturing capacity, and key design, fabrication, assembly, tuning, and delivery milestones. The business proposal must include financial-standing information, required representations and certifications, completed pricing forms, firm-fixed pricing, price certification, and acknowledgment of issued amendments. Amendment 02 extends the proposal deadline to October 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time and requires acknowledgment of the amendment with the proposal package.
