Description
The City of Tempe is seeking proposals to establish a contract for the purchase of sodium chloride (coarse white crystal solar salt) for its water treatment plants. The initial term is one year, with four one-year renewal options based on the awarded firm's performance and future pricing. The addendum identifies Salt Works as the current supplier and lists current prices of $174.88 per ton in bulk, $6.57 per 40-pound bag, and $7.75 per 50-pound bag. The solicitation's existing specifications require salt meeting specified chemical-analysis ranges and applicable water-treatment standards, including NSF/ANSI 60. Deliveries are to be made in bulk within seven to ten working days of an order, with emergency deliveries potentially required within 24 to 48 hours. Salt must be pneumatically transferred into 40-ton and 60-ton brine tanks, with the supplier providing compressors, hoses, connections, and related transfer equipment. Required response materials include the chemical analysis, pricing section, proposal questionnaire, Vendor's Offer, vendor classification disclosure, anti-discrimination materials, House Bill 2488 affidavit, supplier sustainability questionnaire, and signed acknowledgment of Addendum 1.
