Description
Orange County is soliciting sealed bids for Phase 1A of a campuswide vertical transportation modernization project at the Orange County Convention Center. The scope includes replacement and modernization of 12 escalators and eight elevators, including one freight elevator and seven electric traction elevators. Work includes elevator machines, pumping units, mechanical door equipment, controls, fixtures, electrical systems, fire-alarm and security-reader integration, two-way text and video communications, wiring, cosmetic interior upgrades, and increasing Elevator 12 capacity to 18,000 pounds. Escalator work includes replacement of critical components while retaining and reinstalling existing trusses, energy-saving features, skirt lighting, fault indicators, lubrication-free chains, electrical disconnects, and pit lighting. The package also includes HVAC and building-automation work, including BACnet direct digital controls, flow meters, controls integration, software, graphics, testing, and commissioning. The occupied convention center must remain operational, with work sequenced around scheduled events. The contractor is responsible for engineering, permitting, inspections, temporary protection and barricades, fire-watch coverage, shutdown and restoration procedures, coordination, testing, reporting, closeout documentation, and applicable licenses. The estimated project cost is $21,665,157.00. Bids must be submitted electronically through the OpenGov e-procurement platform; hand delivery, mail, telephone, fax, and email submissions are not permitted.
