Manatee County is soliciting construction bids to replace Lifeguard Stations No. 2 and No. 3 at Coquina Beach. The work includes construction of two elevated lifeguard structures with pressure-treated wood framing, wood floors and roofs, stairs, foundations, stainless-steel connections and components, windows, doors, louvers, and related structural work shown in the contract documents. County-furnished items include solar panels, lightning protection, and a mass communication system; the County will purchase the tow rope separately. The contractor must complete the work within 90 calendar days after contract time begins. Construction may occur on site, provided appropriate public-safety measures are used. A 5% bid bond is required with the bid, and the successful bidder must provide 100% payment and performance bonds after notice of intent to award. Builder’s risk insurance is required for 100% of the completed project value, with a maximum self-insured retention or deductible of $10,000. The solicitation requires acknowledgment of all addenda and permits submission by in-person delivery or express mail to the County’s procurement office.
