Description
Bruce Township is soliciting bids for construction of a 42-by-48-foot post-frame equipment storage building. The base bid includes a complete timber column structure with precast concrete lower columns, engineered wood trusses, wind bracing, purlins, wall girts, framing around openings, prefinished metal roofing and siding, trim, soffits, gutters and downspouts, insulation, vapor retarder, and interior liner components. An alternate price is requested for electrical service adjacent to the building, and another alternate is requested for HVAC work shown on the plans. The contractor must provide stamped shop and erection drawings and engineering analysis prepared under the supervision of an Illinois-licensed structural engineer. Bidders must have at least 10 years of documented experience manufacturing and five years erecting this type of structure. The successful contractor must provide at least 40% of the required labor, comply with Illinois prevailing-wage and public-works requirements, and furnish a 5% bid bond or certified check. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to at least the contract price, and specified insurance coverage are required after award.
