Description
The City of Renton is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide civil and structural engineering design services for the Rainier Avenue Corridor Improvements—Phase 5 project. The work covers preliminary engineering for roadway reconfiguration, transit upgrades, traffic operations, a center median, illumination, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, a segment of the Lake Washington Loop Trail, potential utility upgrades, pedestrian crossings, and structural wall design. The scope includes surveying; traffic analysis; preliminary, pavement, surface-water, accessibility, and structural design; permit support; preparation of plans, specifications, and other design documentation; right-of-way needs and plans; constructability review; and bid support and analysis. The City may retain the selected firm for subsequent environmental, right-of-way, and construction-management phases. The agreement is expected to begin in September 2026 and continue for approximately two years, with possible extensions. A voluntary 10% SBE goal applies, with a required SBE Participation Plan and maximum-practicable outreach efforts.
