Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs requires general construction, demolition, and mechanical work to install dedicated air handling units serving pharmacy and compounding areas at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Memorial Hospital. The scope includes a dedicated outdoor air system in the basement, two air handling units in a penthouse, new ductwork, piping, hydronics, direct digital controls integration, fireproofing, testing and balancing, commissioning, and temporary systems needed to maintain hospital operations during construction. The occupied medical center must remain operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Work must be phased to control dust, noise, vibration, utility interruptions, and infection risks, including temporary barriers, ICRA measures, after-hours work in affected areas, and coordination with hospital personnel. The contractor must provide project scheduling, shop drawings and product data, testing and commissioning documentation, operation and maintenance materials, training, and closeout documentation. Amendment 4 adds the applied fireproofing specification and changes the offer deadline to September 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. CDT. The estimated project cost is $2,000,000 to $5,000,000, and the period of performance is 540 calendar days.
