Description
The City of Traverse City is soliciting bids for on-call snow-plowing and snow-hauling equipment and services supporting downtown snow-removal operations during winter 2026/2027. The work may include removing snow from designated sidewalks and boardwalks; windrowing snow on specified downtown streets; plowing and hauling snow from designated parking lots and parking decks; transporting snow to City-designated dump sites; and providing ice-control materials and equipment for special decorative-concrete areas. Contractors must provide equipment, operators, trucks, and crews, including specified minimum quantities of graders, pickups, loaders, haul trucks, sanders, tractors or rubber-track equipment, and walk-behind snow blowers. Parking decks require equipment compatible with their height restrictions and rubber blades to protect traffic coatings, while Garland Street requires power brooms, rubber pushers, and sand-only ice control. The bid is based on hourly equipment rates inclusive of labor, fuel, overhead, and related costs. The work is on call, with mobilization directed by City personnel, and invoices must separately document applicable services. The contract is for one year with options to renew for two additional one-year periods. Performance and payment bonds are required, and the contractor must maintain general liability, professional liability, motor vehicle liability, and workers' compensation insurance.
