Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, plans to issue an unrestricted, firm-fixed-price Request for Proposal for the Houston Ship Channel Expansion Channel Improvement Project, Package 9, Segment 4. The project will widen the main channel to approximately 530 feet up to the Greens Bayou confluence and deepen the navigation channel from 41 feet to 46.5 feet between Boggy Bayou and Sims Bayou. The work also includes constructing the Beltway 8 placement area; preparing and using the Beltway 8, East Clinton, and West Clinton upland placement areas for dredged material; and removing abandoned pipelines and a bulkhead. The contract includes a base period and five options, with anticipated delivery in 477 days after the Notice to Proceed for the base contract and 603 days if all options are exercised. The estimated project value is $100 million to $250 million. This is an unrestricted, full-and-open LPTA construction procurement with subcontracting goals for small businesses.
