Description
The U.S. Navy is conducting market research for the potential lease of one self-contained 100 kW diesel generator to provide primary or standby emergency power at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The generator must provide 480 VAC, three-phase power; include a 200-amp, 480 VAC main circuit breaker, suitable output bus bars, local electric start, maintenance-free batteries, battery charger, water-jacket heater, hour meter, alarms, automatic shutdowns, and a double-wall UL 142-compliant fuel tank sized for 16 hours of full-load operation. The contractor would provide the equipment, management, labor, parts, maintenance, repairs, and technical support. Requirements include a pre-delivery load test at 80% of full load for one hour, replacement of worn filters, hoses, and belts, 24/7 technical or certified diesel-mechanic support, repair or replacement within specified response periods, operation and maintenance manuals, EPA off-road certification, and one hour of on-site familiarization training upon delivery. The notice is a sources-sought request for market information, not a solicitation or request for quotes; interested companies must submit a capability response of no more than five pages addressing business size, relevant recent past performance, organizational and technical capabilities, and anticipated interest in quoting.
