Description
The California Department of Water Resources is soliciting bids for as-needed rental of 329 types of heavy equipment to support peak workloads and high-water or flood situations. The equipment list includes excavators, loaders, dozers, forklifts, generators, pumps, trucks, trailers, compressors, compactors, lifts, and related attachments and accessories. The contractor must possess at least 50% of the listed equipment, or at least 165 items, and must provide equipment that is less than seven years old, has fewer than 2,500 operating hours, is clean and in good working order, and complies with applicable safety and air-quality requirements. The contractor must deliver and retrieve equipment, provide operational familiarization, scheduled maintenance, and same-day repair or replacement when needed. Emergency requests must be fulfilled within four hours, and the contractor must provide 24-hour availability during emergency conditions. Bidders must submit daily, weekly, and monthly rates for every listed item, plus delivery charges. The agreement is anticipated to run for three years, with no guaranteed quantity of work. The solicitation requires three percent DVBE participation and includes specified small-business preference and DVBE documentation requirements.
