Description
The Township of Wayne is soliciting 237 tons of high-calcium hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide), delivered in approximately 22-ton truckloads. The product must meet specified chemical composition and fineness requirements, and bidders must provide product analysis, bulk density, basicity factor, and average particle diameter with their bids. Delivery includes blowing the lime into storage silos using the truck’s own blower; deliveries are generally required within 48 hours of an order, with emergency delivery within 24 hours. The vendor must also provide a written emergency procedure with its bid and train approximately 37 Township employees in safe handling, use, and storage. Material safety data sheets must accompany the initial delivery.
