Description
The Township is soliciting bids for three categories of deicing materials: bulk rock salt, green-dyed salt treated with liquid magnesium chloride, and a 32% liquid calcium chloride solution with corrosion inhibitor. Rock salt and treated salt are priced by the ton; calcium chloride is priced by the gallon. The specifications set product composition and quality requirements, including moisture and impurity limits, corrosion-performance criteria, and testing requirements for the liquid products. The contract provides for delivery, and in some cases pickup, in response to Township orders, with delivery options ranging from 48 hours to five business days. Deliveries are generally to be made in full within the requested timeframe; the Township may award up to two contracts per category. The contract may be extended for up to three additional one-year periods. The stated maximum total contract amount is $350,000 per contract year across all categories and vendors.
