Description
This solicitation is for herbicide treatment services to control woody seedling and stump regeneration within designated grassland units at Key Cave National Wildlife Refuge in Florence, Alabama. The objective is to reduce woody encroachment and enhance habitat quality, supporting maintenance through prescribed fire. The treatment area is approximately 200 acres, consisting of grassland drainages and open grasslands, which were previously mechanically treated in 2024 and with herbicide in 2025. The contractor will be responsible for applying appropriate herbicides to control targeted vegetation, ensuring 95% control of all vegetation 30 days post-treatment. The period of performance is from July 1, 2026, with initial treatment completed within 45 calendar days, and the project fully completed by September 30, 2026. All herbicide applications must be performed by ground, following manufacturer label rates and EPA standards. The contractor must provide all necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, and transportation. Key personnel include a Contract Manager/Administrator and Project Manager/Supervisor. The contract type is fixed-price cost-per-acre.
