Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a portable and field-deployable X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) system designed for stress measurements on engineering materials such as steel. The system will be used in both laboratory and outdoor settings and must be capable of multiaxial stress measurements. The solicitation includes a base requirement for the XRD system and several optional items, including different types of X-ray tubes (Cobalt, Copper, Iron, Manganese, Vanadium, Titanium), a liquid cooling system, and powered translation and rotation stages. The system must be portable, include radiation shielding, and operate on standard 115V or 120V electrical power. Installation, training for up to five users, and a one-year manufacturer's warranty are also required.
