Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is issuing a Sources Sought notice to identify potential sources for a TPT manual wire bonder. The required wire bonder must be capable of wedge, ball, and ribbon wire bonding, with manual control over X, Y, and Z positioning. Key technical specifications include support for gold and aluminum wire diameters from 17 um to 75 um, ribbon wire widths from 20 um to 250 um, an ultrasonic transducer with PLL control (60-70 kHz, 0-10 W power output), and a bond force range of 5 cN to 200 cN. The system should also feature a motorized wire clamp, a throat depth of at least 165 mm, and a temperature controller capable of reaching at least 250 C with +/- 1C accuracy. The unit must be tabletop size, smaller than 600 x 600 x 300 mm, and include an integrated operator interface with a display supporting at least 20 bonding programs. Respondents are requested to provide company details, capabilities meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements, reseller authorization evidence, and identify any unduly restrictive aspects of the requirements with suggestions for improvement. Additionally, respondents should indicate their business size status (small or other than small business) relative to the NAICS code 333242, suggest alternative NAICS codes if applicable, and detail any existing Federal Supply Schedule contracts or relevant experience. NIST is not responsible for any costs incurred by respondents and reserves the right to use the information provided for any purpose.
