Description
Smith County Emergency Services District 2 is soliciting proposals for the procurement of three new fire apparatus water tenders. These tenders are intended for municipal and rural fire operations and must comply with current NFPA, FMVSS, and Texas requirements. The apparatus will feature a 3,000-gallon water tank, a midship fire pump with a minimum capacity of 1,250 GPM, and extensive compartmentation for equipment storage and deployment. The specifications detail requirements for the chassis, engine, transmission, suspension, braking system, water tank construction, fire pump, hose storage, and safety features. The apparatus will be configured with a custom or commercial cab on a severe-duty commercial chassis, with options for Freightliner 114SD or equivalent. Key components include a Detroit DD13 or Cummins X12 engine, an Allison 4000 Series automatic transmission, and a full air brake system with ABS and traction control.
