Description
The Honolulu Fire Department is seeking a professional medical consultant to direct and evaluate its medical response program, develop protocols and quality-assurance programs, and provide recommendations on standard operating procedures and guidelines. The consultant will advise the Fire Chief on patient care, response safety, and personnel safety issues and serve as the department's medical liaison for emergency medical services committees. The scope also includes oversight of EMT and first-responder training, certification of designated trainers, and management and evaluation of the CPR/AED program, including analysis and follow-up of cardiac-arrest responses. The consultant is expected to provide services for 30 hours per week at an agreed rate of $78 per hour, with a maximum payable amount of $608,400. The contract term is 12 months from the Notice to Proceed. Submissions are limited to 15 pages, must be in PDF format, and must be emailed; hard copies, CDs, and facsimiles are not accepted.
