Description
The City of Yakima is requesting Statements of Qualifications from firms to provide professional engineering design and as-needed surveying services for the federally funded 2027 Milling and Overlay Project. The project covers milling and overlaying five-lane sections of S. 1st Street from Walnut Street to Pacific Avenue and E. Yakima Avenue from 6th Street to the Yakima River Bridge. The anticipated scope includes ADA ramp improvements; sidewalk, curb, and gutter replacement; water and storm drainage replacement; street lighting; environmental documentation; and related design work. Surveying has not yet been completed. Design is intended to occur during 2026–2027, with construction anticipated in 2027. The City may retain the successful firm or firms for subsequent right-of-way and construction phases. Statements of Qualifications are limited to ten pages, front and back, and must address key personnel, relevant street rehabilitation and utility plans/specifications/estimates experience, design approach, familiarity with City of Yakima and Washington State Department of Transportation standards, federal-funded project experience, and past performance and references. Evaluation will be competitive and will include interviews.
