The Forest Service is soliciting a small-business contractor to perform a Phase I cultural resources survey for the Peerless Vegetation Management project on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The work covers seven survey areas totaling approximately 2,184 acres and requires pre-field research, pedestrian survey, systematic shovel testing, site delineation, artifact and cultural-resource documentation, and evaluation of resources for the National Register of Historic Places. The contractor must provide qualified archaeological personnel, equipment, supplies, permits, and licenses. Required deliverables include a research design, progress reports, draft and final reports, completed cultural-resource and isolated-resource forms, maps, photographs and photo logs, geospatial data compatible with ArcGIS Pro, field notes, and any collected artifacts and catalog forms. The quotation must include pricing for every line item, a completed Schedule of Items, a completed Experience Questionnaire, a technical approach narrative, and resumes as needed to demonstrate personnel qualifications and experience. The anticipated contract is firm-fixed-price, with one one-year base period and a period of performance from September 21, 2026, through September 20, 2027.
