Jacob | Martin, LLC is seeking qualifications from a geotechnical engineering firm to perform field investigations and prepare a sealed geotechnical report for the foundation design of a proposed 2.0-million-gallon AWWA D110 Type III prestressed concrete ground storage tank for the City of Colorado City, Texas. The work includes five soil borings, laboratory testing, analysis of subsurface and groundwater conditions, and geotechnical recommendations. The selected firm and engineer must be fully competent in geotechnical engineering and licensed in Texas. The report must address site and geological conditions, soil and groundwater characteristics, sinkhole and collapsible-soil potential, expansive soils and frost heave, foundation-system recommendations, excavation and slope requirements, subgrade preparation, backfill, bearing capacity, settlement, lateral pressures, seismic soil classification, groundwater and flood elevations, groundwater-control measures, and related design considerations. The final report must include a site location map, boring-location plan, boring logs, and laboratory test results. Qualification statements must exclude cost information and include key personnel qualifications and a history of two to three similar completed projects.
