Description
The City Attorney's Office is soliciting proposals from qualified law firms to provide legal representation and support concerning employment litigation. The scope includes reviewing and negotiating matters, defending City departments and individual employees—including public safety employees—providing litigation and trial support, and offering related general legal advice. Potential matters may include First Amendment, wage-and-hour, and employment-related defamation claims. Proposers must describe their firm's background, relevant experience, assigned attorneys and their qualifications, backup procedures, special services, conflicts-management procedures, relevant public-sector clients, and certain litigation or legal-proceeding history. Responses must include proposed hourly rates, attorney names and bar numbers, resumes, relevant expertise, a signed cover letter, and required City contracting compliance forms. The anticipated contract may last up to three years and may be awarded without discussions or through further negotiation.
