Description
The City of Madison is seeking operational services for its recycling center, including conveyor operation; sorting plastics, cardboard, newspaper, office paper, and aluminum for baling; maintaining cleanliness in the work area, office, and restrooms; emptying trash and recycling containers; cleaning and disinfecting sinks, toilets, and a water fountain; clearing stairs; mopping floors; and securing the building at the end of each workday. The City will provide and maintain sorting equipment, safety wear, and custodial supplies, and will provide mandatory initial training to contractor employees. Services must be performed Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with specific hours determined by mutual agreement. The contractor must provide a supervisor who is regularly on the job, may not subcontract or transfer the services, and must submit a monthly invoice. The contract term is 24 months, from February 1, 2027, through January 31, 2029. Proof of insurance is required before the contract start date, including general liability coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, with the City named as an additional insured, as well as workers' compensation coverage.
