The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Eastern Acquisition Division - Kansas City office intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to AirGas USA LLC for AirGas Stainless Steel Enclosures with required custom components. These enclosures are for the National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, Missouri. The sole source award is justified under FAR 6.103-1, as AirGas USA LLC is the only responsible source capable of providing the gas regulator boxes with custom add-ins for the Upper Air Program. These custom components will enable the creation of fully assembled regulator box enclosures that can be kept ready for immediate deployment to the field. This will minimize downtime by allowing for the immediate replacement of failed components with a ready-to-deploy unit, rather than requiring sites to wait for repairs and return of their original enclosure.
