Vancouver Coastal Health Authority is soliciting a pre-qualified mechanical contractor as prime contractor for the UBC Hospital Detwiller Pavilion chilled-water and hot-water pump replacement project. The work includes demolition of four existing chilled-water pumps and one existing hot-water pump, installation of new pumps, construction of new housekeeping pads, installation of variable frequency drives, electrical wiring, and piping connections as required. The work will occur within an active healthcare facility and requires detailed construction phasing, shutdown planning, and coordination with clinical and facilities-management operations. Only bidders pre-qualified by the Health Organization for non-acute-care projects greater than $100,000 in the mechanical-contractor discipline may submit; the electrical subcontractor must also meet the stated pre-qualification range. Ready-for-takeover is anticipated in August 2027.
