Description
The University at Albany is conducting a Request for Information to understand vendor capabilities, operating models, technology, staffing, fleet management, safety and compliance practices, sustainability approaches, customer service, transition planning, and cost structures for comprehensive campus mobility services. The anticipated service model includes fixed-route bus operations during academic periods, on-demand transportation during break periods, and supplemental transportation for major events such as commencement, athletic games, open houses, tours, and VIP visits. Respondents are asked to describe relevant higher-education experience; integrated fixed-route and on-demand operations; fleet and zero-emission vehicle strategies; real-time tracking, passenger information, mobile applications, analytics, and system integration; operator recruitment and training; ADA, safety, emergency, and business-continuity practices; transition planning for an anticipated July 1, 2027 service start; special-event surge capacity; customer-service models; and typical contract and pricing structures. This is an informational and voluntary RFI, not a solicitation or request for pricing, and it will not result directly in a contract award. Responses are to include the requested capability and experience information and identify information that would assist with a future solicitation.
