Description
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Radiological and Environmental Sciences Laboratory and Department of Energy Laboratory Accreditation Program intend to issue a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order for customized, fully integrated laboratory equipment from Hopewell Designs, Inc. The requirement includes a Model N40-1-A neutron irradiator with automated pneumatic source shutter, custom shielding, control computer, and proprietary Automated Irradiator Software; a RadARM-N radiation area monitor with safety interlock and moderated neutron detector; a custom motorized rotational stage; LaserAlign-WM and LaserAlign-LPS alignment systems with custom mounting brackets; and precision placement jigs for ion chamber and instrument positioning. The notice is based on proprietary integration and form, fit, and function requirements involving existing Hopewell Designs hardware, LabVIEW-based software, system drivers, and safety interlock architectures. This is a notice of intent to sole source, not a request for competitive proposals; interested parties may submit a capability statement only if they can provide the exact fully integrated systems without compromising proprietary software protections or safety interlock chains.
