Description
Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC, the management and operating contractor for the Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory, is conducting a Sources Sought/Expression of Interest for a firm-fixed-price design/build contract covering the engineering, fabrication, testing, and delivery of a CO2 compressor package for the Central Facilities Area Carbon-based Fuels Capability. The compressor must be oil-free, liquid-cooled, fixed-speed, and electric-motor driven; compress approximately 99% CO2 from 0.14–2 psig inlet pressure to 1,400 psig at 66.1 scfm; and operate on a nearly continuous basis. The complete package must fit within a high-cube shipping container and include the structural frame, controls, instrumentation, alarms, data logging, emergency shutoff, cooling equipment, piping, and stainless-steel drip pan. The work also requires compliance with applicable AISC, AWS D1.1, ASME Section VIII, Division 1, National Board, and UL-508A requirements. Responders must demonstrate relevant compressor and pressure-vessel experience, packaging capability, inspection and testing plans including a 10-hour continuous reliability test, quality-assurance capability, schedule compliance, and the ability to provide operations and maintenance documentation, spare-parts recommendations, and startup/commissioning field support. The response is limited to five pages; qualified respondents may later receive a formal RFP.
