Description
Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC, the management and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory, is seeking expressions of interest from qualified firms for a future design/build contract supporting the CFA-686 Carbon-based Fuels Capability. The scope includes design, fabrication, inspection, testing, and delivery of a horizontal 200-cubic-foot ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1 code-stamped pressure vessel for gaseous CO2 service. The vessel will have a design pressure of 1,800 psig, a design temperature range of -40°F to 500°F, 304/304L stainless steel pressure-boundary materials, saddle supports, multiple nozzles, band heating elements, insulation, and protective aluminum sheathing. Required work includes compliance with applicable ASME, IBC, ASCE, and ACI requirements; welding, radiography or phased-array ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic testing, positive material identification, liquid penetrant testing, quality control, and preparation of final code data and as-built documentation.
