Description
The U.S. Army requires recertification of 528 nitrogen cylinders during a one-year firm-fixed-price contract. The contractor must inspect and hydrostatically test each cylinder, refill and charge it with nitrogen meeting A-A-59503, Type I, Grade B, Class 1, and stamp it in accordance with 49 CFR Part 180.213; engraving is prohibited. The work includes replacing failed valves using government-furnished replacement valves, documenting passed and failed cylinders and valves on SIAD Form 3161, and notifying the government of failures. The contractor must provide the personnel, equipment, supplies, facility, tools, materials, and supervision necessary for performance at the contractor's facility. The government will transport cylinders to and from the contractor for locations within 200 miles of Sierra Army Depot; the contractor is responsible beyond that range. Quotes must include pricing for all contract line items and a signed SF 1449, with award based on price only among conforming, responsible offers. A potential six-month service extension may be exercised, but offerors price only the base period.
