Description
The United States Air Force is seeking information from potential manufacturers capable of producing C-5 Hydraulic Motors (NSN 165004866297, Part Number MPHF1-152-1B) and C-5 Screw Drive Motors (NSN 1650000600548, Part Number MF36-3909-30ZES671-3). These components are critical for the C-5 Galaxy aircraft. The Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is a dual hydraulic motor system used to transfer power between hydraulic systems for efficiency and to maintain pressure in case of pump failure. The Screw Drive Motor is a critical flight safety component used in the C-5's Pitch Trim Actuator. Currently, Eaton Aerospace LLC (Cage Code: 62983) is the sole known source with the proprietary manufacturing data and expertise for these items. The government does not possess the necessary manufacturing data packages to release to other potential vendors. Therefore, the DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Eaton Aerospace LLC.
