The U.S. Army is soliciting firm-fixed-price supply and delivery of dry ice to Corpus Christi Army Depot. The requirement includes 390,000 pounds annually of 60-pound, 10-inch dry ice blocks/cubes delivered twice weekly to 12 depot-wide delivery points; 18,720 pounds annually of 60-pound, 2-by-2-by-10-inch dry ice slabs delivered twice weekly to the T700 Engines delivery point; and 3,432 pounds annually of 33-pound dry ice pellet bundles delivered weekly to the Rotating Electric delivery point. The solicitation includes four one-year option periods in addition to the base period. Because solid carbon dioxide is treated as hazardous material, the contractor must comply with applicable safety requirements and submit a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan and Activity Hazard Analysis before the first delivery. The contractor must also provide a current safety data sheet and certify that delivery personnel are trained in handling cryogenic and asphyxiant materials. Delivery personnel will perform work at the depot and must comply with installation access, security, training, and identification requirements.
