Description
The Mississippi State Department of Health is accepting applications for its State Loan Repayment Program, which provides up to $150,000 in educational loan repayment to eligible primary care, oral health, and behavioral health professionals serving at approved Health Professional Shortage Area sites in Mississippi. Participants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, hold an active Mississippi license, meet the program's eligibility requirements, and commit to full-time or half-time service for a minimum of two years. Matching funds are required at a one-to-one ratio from non-federal sources. Applicants must provide professional, citizenship, licensing, education, practice-site, and loan information; qualifying loan documentation; a personal statement of no more than three pages; and required attestations. The program includes employment and loan verification reporting, including periodic employment verification and proof that awarded funds were applied to qualifying educational loans. Applications are submitted electronically through the state's OpenGov Procurement portal, with awards subject to available funding and MSDH discretion.
