Description
Denton County seeks a single-prime general contractor to rehabilitate and restore its historic courthouse in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, preserving its 1896 appearance and character-defining features. Work includes repairs to deteriorated building components, the roof and exterior stone masonry, structural repairs, accessibility improvements, waterproofing, and restoration of historic interior finishes. Interior work includes plaster repair, restroom renovations, flooring and tile restoration or replacement, carpet replacement, woodwork repairs, and IT/data upgrades. Exterior work includes slate roofing, sandstone and limestone restoration, masonry cleaning and repointing, copper roofing repairs, drainage improvements, and wood window and door restoration. The scope also includes associated architectural, engineering, and construction services. The architect’s estimate is $4,665,000, including the contingency allowance.
