Description
The City of Rockford Water Division is soliciting bids for one or more contractors to provide as-needed water distribution services at fixed hourly rates. The scope includes hydrant removal, installation, replacement, and relocation; valve removal and installation; water service installation and abandonment; water main repairs, relocation, and installation; water appurtenance abandonment; exploratory excavation; concrete, asphalt, brick, and landscape restoration; demolition; and other water-division-related services. Work may be planned or emergency, including nights and weekends. Contractors must provide estimates for non-emergency work, respond to emergencies with continuous labor until affected customers' water service is restored, maintain service and daily work logs, provide required licenses and certifications, and comply with applicable safety, environmental, prevailing-wage, apprenticeship, insurance, and reporting requirements. The contract runs from award through December 31, 2027, with four possible one-year extensions.
