Description
The City of Rockford requests bids from qualified contractors to rehabilitate the Harrison Avenue Bridge over the Rock River. The work includes reconstructing the west abutment backwall and wingwalls; repairing concrete on the deck underside, piers, abutments, and other structural elements; repairing structural steel; replacing expansion bearings and expansion-joint components; installing reinforcement, concrete, approach pavement, sidewalk, curb and gutter, drainage components, and geocomposite wall drain; and applying concrete sealer and epoxy crack injection. The project also includes temporary sheet piling, jacking and removal of existing bearings, temporary concrete barriers, impact attenuators, temporary and permanent pavement markings, traffic control and protection, mobilization, utility coordination, erosion control, hazardous-waste handling for lead-containing coatings, prevailing-wage compliance, apprenticeship requirements, and required construction scheduling and submittals. The plans identify Structure No. 101-6130 and provide a detailed schedule of prices with 42 bid items.
