The Kenai Peninsula Borough is soliciting proposals for energy-efficient lighting improvements at Central Emergency Services Station 5 in Funny River and Station 6 in Kasilof. The work includes evaluating existing interior and exterior lighting; replacing incandescent and fluorescent bulbs with LED alternatives; upgrading or replacing obsolete, damaged, or inefficient fixtures; installing new lighting in areas with insufficient illumination; and furnishing all associated materials and installation services. Proposals must identify recommended improvements for each station, distinguish bulb conversions from complete fixture replacements and new installations, and provide quantities, proposed equipment, methodology, schedule, qualifications, at least three similar-service references, key staff and subcontractors, available resources, and a separate fee schedule. Potential lighting controls include photocells, motion sensors, and other energy-saving devices. The contractor must remove and properly dispose of replaced materials and test the completed lighting and controls. The solicitation also requires applicable licenses and credentials, a tax compliance form, and acknowledgment of addenda.
