Description
This Invitation to Bid (ITB) is for Phase 2b of the Downtown Danbury Streetscape Renaissance Project, encompassing sections of Main Street (Route 53), Post Office Walk, and White Street. The project involves the removal of existing streetscape and landscaping elements and the installation of new features. These include sidewalks, crosswalks, ADA-accessible curb ramps, landscaping, street furniture, parking meter kiosks, granite curb replacement, new driveway aprons, catch basin rebuilding, handicap ramp and step reconstruction, and resetting of utility manhole covers and valve boxes. The selected contractor must maintain access to all businesses and name property owners as additional insured on their policy. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site-walkthrough will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Questions will be accepted until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 13, 2026. Bids exceeding $500,000 require a DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate from the State of Connecticut.
