Description
Red Lake County is soliciting bids for the construction project S.P. 063-601-022, which involves bituminous surface, bituminous overlay, paved shoulder widening, shoulder base aggregate, and milled rumble strips. Key quantities include 19,500 tons of Type SP9.5 Wearing Course Mixture, 11,500 tons of Type SP9.5 Bituminous Mix for Tight Blade Leveling, 199,882 square yards of Mill Bituminous Surface (1.5" depth), and 3,860 tons of Shoulder Base Aggregate, Class 1. Bidding documents can be accessed free of charge on the Red Lake County website under the highway department's 'Projects & Bidding Information' page. Hard copy purchase is not required to bid as a prime. Plans and proposals can also be purchased from the Red Lake County Highway Department. Bids must be accompanied by a cashier's check or bidder's bond payable to the Red Lake County Treasurer in the amount of at least 5% of the total bid. The County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, waive irregularities, and award the contract in the best interest of the county. Minimum wage rates are predetermined and subject to the Work Hours Act of 1962. The Minnesota Department of Transportation ensures that disadvantaged business enterprises, minority groups, disadvantaged persons, and women will have maximum opportunity to participate and will not be discriminated against. Contractors employing more than 40 full-time employees must possess a valid Certificate of Compliance issued by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
