Description
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is seeking a qualified media company to execute a statewide awareness campaign regarding the proper management of lithium-ion batteries. This campaign is crucial as lithium-ion batteries will be banned from landfill disposal starting December 1, 2026. The campaign will utilize radio advertisements and digital messaging to reach residents across all 100 counties. DEQ plans for the campaign to begin in August 2026 and conclude by February 28, 2027, with the selected media company collaborating with DEQ during the summer of 2026 for campaign design and preparation. The selected company will be responsible for developing and producing thirty-second radio commercials and digital messaging across various social media platforms, directing residents to DEQ's webpage on lithium-ion battery recycling. The DEQ's Public Affairs Office will approve all final versions of advertisements and messages before broadcast. The estimated budget for the campaign is $200,000.
