Description
The Grand River Dam Authority is soliciting bids for the turnkey recoating and rehabilitation of seven Robert S. Kerr Dam powerhouse hatch covers. The scope includes lead abatement; SSPC-SP 10 abrasive blasting; structural repairs to bar joists, trusses, bracing, and connections; replacement of edge trim on three square hatches; inspection and minor remediation of four circular-lid center vents; application of specified exterior and interior coating systems; and installation of underside rigid fiberglass insulation with CD-welded pins and sealed joints. One northern square hatch cover also includes an optional separately priced painted U.S. Flag. The contractor must provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, containment, temporary covers, waste handling, staging, crane coordination, safety measures, and required submittals. Required qualifications and proposal documentation include applicable lead-abatement certifications, current AMPP QP1 certification, comparable project experience, supervisory personnel information, safety records, coating and insulation product data, and a proposed project schedule. The base work is lump-sum, with separate unit prices for structural repairs exceeding the estimated base quantities.
