Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the St. Louis VA Health Care System, requires a construction contractor to create a three-bed observation unit and renovate seven rooms within the existing Emergency Department at the John Cochran Division. The work includes converting three rooms into an observation unit and renovating additional rooms for relocated triage areas and a reception desk. The scope includes phased construction in an operating medical center, infection-control measures, demolition, architectural finishes, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, fire protection, fire alarm, communications, security, and related systems. Amendment 0004 provides revised specifications and revised drawings, clarifies that the sprinkler work is a design-build scope, and states that no hazardous-material report is required with the proposal. The period of performance is 550 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The opportunity remains a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside, and the prime contractor must perform at least 25 percent of the general construction labor.
