Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking proposals for its Youth Conservation Corps program, authorized by the Public Lands Corps Act (PLC). This program aims to provide work experience and skill development for individuals aged 16-30 (and veterans up to 35) in natural and cultural resource management projects. Projects will support the BLM's mission by focusing on areas such as recreation enhancement, habitat restoration, invasive species removal, and preservation of cultural resources. Projects may also include studies, seed collection, wildfire risk reduction, and the production of educational materials. Eligible applicants include state governments, county governments, city or township governments, special district governments, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, federally recognized Native American tribal governments, other Native American tribal organizations, and non-profit organizations (with or without 501(c)(3) status). Individuals and for-profit organizations are ineligible. A 25% cost share is required for all agreements. Projects are expected to range from $30,000 to $220,000, with an estimated total program funding of $900,000 for approximately 8 awards.
